Moraga Modern Craftsman ADU

A Fusion Of Craftsmanship & Comfort

ADU Construction With A Kitchen In Moraga

A Brief Overview

The Moraga ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) perfectly blends functional elegance and modern design. Conceived as an additional living space for Elizabeth’s elderly mother, this project evolved into a stunning East Coast craftsman-style dwelling.

The team incorporated innovative features like a garage door that transforms into a kitchen-to-patio bar and property-harvested pine for shelves and countertops. This ADU exemplifies a tailored living space designed with care and precision.

The Homeowners

Elizabeth & David

Elizabeth and David sought to create a space for Elizabeth’s mother but fell in love with the ADU themselves. Their vision of an East Coast craftsman home in Moraga came to life with Vought Construction’s expertise, turning it into a cozy, stylish abode.

The Challenge

Navigating Construction During Covid

The primary challenge in this project was managing material lead times amidst COVID-19. The smooth execution and excellent client relationship, however, made the process enjoyable and efficient despite external pressures.

Harmonizing Lifestyle & Design

Initially intended as a residence for Elizabeth’s mother, the ADU’s charm and functionality captivated the couple, compelling them to make it their own home. This shift highlights the ADU’s allure and its adaptability to meet and exceed the homeowners’ expectations, showcasing its perfect blend of comfort, style, and practicality.

The transition allowed Elizabeth’s mother to comfortably occupy the master bedroom in the main house, keeping the family close together while providing everyone with their ideal living space.

The ADU’s radiant heated floors, innovative indoor-outdoor kitchen, and cozy yet elegant design symbolize the family’s unity and Vought Construction’s commitment to creating versatile, sophisticated, and comfortable spaces.

Showcasing The Details That Make The Difference

What The Client Had To Say

Vought Construction is the best. We have worked with several firms over the years and the experience with Vought has been far and away the most satisfying and impressive. Devon and Jorge take the work and the process seriously from start to finish. Attention to detail and quality are top-notch.

They stand behind their work, they share their expertise, they listen to concerns and questions, and they over-deliver. That last bit about overdelivering is not easy. Our expectations were very high, but from the early conversations and estimating through to the final walkthrough they kept impressing us. Yes, I would hire them again, and I will, but if you get a chance to work with them, do it.”
