The homeowner originally built the ADU for her mother, until they realized it was the perfect space for them. Now her mother enjoys the primary suite, and the ADU gives the whole family the connected living setup they wanted.
The original home didn’t offer livable space, flow, or accessibility for multigenerational living. So, the homeowners decided to build an ADU on an underutilized portion of the property that needed significant reimagining. Working on a sloped lot also meant addressing drainage, grading, and structural considerations before construction could begin. Once cleared and properly prepared, the site became the perfect spot for the ADU.
Installing the oversized Calacatta Gold Marble slabs was a true team effort, with each piece weighing more than 500 pounds and unable to be cut down. The design team meticulously planned every measurement, while the build team executed each precise cut and coordinated a six-person crew to set the slabs safely. This level of collaboration ensured the marble was installed flawlessly despite the complexity and scale of the materials.
