The steep slope presented a significant challenge, requiring advanced engineering and deep foundations to ensure safety and longevity. Additionally, the homeowners needed an elegant outdoor space suitable for entertaining guests and hosting fundraisers.
Collaborating with WA Design on this project pushed our craftsmanship to a new level. The floating concrete stairs leading down to the deck were the most complex we have ever built, and we even poured them once, removed them completely by jackhammer, and started over to meet our quality standards. The final result is beautiful, and the architect’s innovative and highly technical design genuinely required that second attempt to achieve the perfection we were aiming for.
