I moved to the Bay Area from Florida in 2008 when I was 19, with no formal training in construction—just a strong work ethic and the willingness to hustle. I worked construction during the day with my uncle, a home builder, and cooked in a restaurant at night. Under my uncle’s guidance, I learned the trades from the ground up: digging ditches, framing, siding, painting, and finish work.
One day, while sanding siding on a house, a realtor selling the place next door asked if I could paint hers. That one job turned into many. She referred me to others, and within a year, I left both the restaurant and my uncle’s crew to work independently.
In 2013, I became one of the youngest licensed general contractors in California. I built my reputation by showing up on time, doing what I said I’d do, and treating every project, big or small, with care. Handyman work evolved into kitchens, baths, full-home remodels, and eventually ground-up custom homes.
